MISSY

Missy is a 3 year old, 55 lb (smaller than average), German Shepherd/Husky pup! She is the sweetest dog, very energetic! She loves people, loves to play with other dogs, loves the beach, snow, and car rides! She loves to play fetch and will follow you around curious at all times. She loves to be cuddled and petted and loves meeting new people! She is fully potty trained and crate trained. Has gone through a few training sessions, knows basic commands, could still use some work with recall, and even though she may be a little sassy or stubborn sometimes, she is definitely still trainable! She picks up new commands each week still. She does have some tummy issues here and there, but with proper food and probiotic treats, she doesn't have many issues.  I am having to give her a new home due to financial issues that came up unfortunately, but I just hope she can find a new home, hopefully with a big back yard! Thank you.

ROSCOE

Roscoe (aka Mr. Man) is around 1.5 years old and is excited about life! He is such a happy boy and loves meeting new people. He was found on the street and then surrendered by his owner who could not care for him. He will be neutered (appointment scheduled) and is up to date on all his vaccines. He is very playful and is working hard on learning his manners but is totally trainable and eager to learn. He is food motivated and also loves toys. Roscoe knows plenty of tricks like sit, down, stand, touch, spin, crawl, paw, high five, through your legs, sit up. He's very smart and picked all these up within a few days with me. He would likely do well with agility training. He loves enrichment games like find it, kongs, lickmats and he really loves chewing nylabones and antlers. We're working very hard on getting him leash trained (no pulling) and he's starting to get it but will need continued training in this area as he is easily overstimulated and distracted outside of the home. Roscoe can be rowdy but will also settle after he's had some exercise. He gets amped up real fast with toys and loves to run around the backyard shaking his favorite ladybug firehose toy. He is working on learning to drop and leave it and is starting to get the hang of playing fetch. Roscoe does the cutest pittie froggy legs and does an actual upward dog yoga pose stretch in the mornings. He's a very sweet boy who just wants to spread the love!

Roscoe's ideal home would be one that can provide boundaries, routine, and consistency. A quiet household is probably best as he is so easily excitable. Roscoe needs an active person/people who will be diligent with his training and provide ample opportunities for him to exercise and play. Due to his jumping, mouthing, and humping behaviors (no aggression, just high arousal with new people, toys, etc) and still working on impulse control, Roscoe would do best in a home without small children. He could likely do ok with older children who know some basic training and/or have experience around large dogs. He gets along with the dog he lives with now but it is unknown how he is with other dogs and cats. From what I can tell, he really wants to play with other dogs but hasn't had the opportunity because he's not yet neutered and just got vaccinated. He would love a home with a fenced yard for romping around.

Roscoe is so full of love and will make someone a very loyal companion if given the chance. He is wiggly, boisterous, sweet, and has the biggest heart. He just needs some consistency and someone to guide him. He is crate trained overnight and while you are away. He has no destructive behaviors in the home and is potty trained. Please reach out if you are interested in adopting this special, beastie boy :)

JANA

Jana, female, 6 years old

Jana is a loving and intelligent Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who is in need of a new home. Although she is very well trained, gentle, and affectionate with the people she knows, Jana has stranger anxiety that can turn towards aggression, which has led to some nips and one bite. She is muzzle trained, house trained, and is a wonderful walking and snuggling companion. We are hoping to find her a home with an experienced dog owner who will love and appreciate Jana's intelligence and companionship, and is able to provide her with the management and attention she needs.

Although Jana has anxiety around strangers, she does not have separation anxiety, and is very respectful towards furniture and other household items. She can be acclimated to large dogs and cats, but we do not think she is an appropriate dog for families with small children or households without any secured outdoor space.

Thank you so much for considering Jana as your next canine companion!

PENELOPE

Penelope is a sweet and affectionate 11 month, 48lbs American Pit Terrier mix. She loves people and loves to make friends wherever she goes! She is a cuddle bug and will lay down next to you for hours as long as you have a hand scratching her ears. She knows basic commands, is kennel trained and potty trained. While Penelope has lived successfully with other dogs (2 large female dogs in her previous home and a 40lb female dog in her current home) she is reactive/aggressive towards other unknown dogs and will need someone familiar with dog handling to get her used to city living. She loves to give her current sister ear cleanings and will plop right down on top of her for a cuddly nap, and would do best in a home with larger or no other dogs. Her temperament towards small dogs and cats is unknown. She's very intelligent and food motivated so she's engaged and eager during training.

She is spayed, micro chipped, up to date on all shots and will come with her leashes, collars, and kennel.

Squid

His name is Squid, he’s 5.5 months old, born 9/16/22. His mom (my dog Xena) is 62.5% Am. Staff, and 12.5% each of Chow, German Shepherd, and Scottish Deerhound, I was told his dad is 50% German Shepherd, and the rest is Boxer, Australian Shepherd, and Australian Cattle Dog. He is neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccinated and will receive his 2nd of 3 rounds of shots tomorrow morning (we recently had to restart due to the amount of time it took to get him placed in a forever home). He’s potty trained (with the occasional accident) and knows basic commands. He is a very sweet puppy. He loves to cuddle and much as he loves playing independently and with his mom and sister (that I’m keeping). He’s very smart and would do well with someone who can prioritize mental stimulation as much as physical exercise. He is a loyal and attentive puppy who will go wherever you go if the love and trust is there. He knows his commands but will still try to outsmart you because he thinks he’s the smartest dude on the planet. Lol. He doesn’t love bath time but he’ll tolerate it. And if ever he’s not fond of something, like getting his paws wiped when coming in for the rain/muddy backyard, he’ll slowly flop on his side in an attempt to get belly scratches instead. He loves peanut butter in Kongs or on a lick mat. And is not crate trained though I feel he’d be amenable if given the aforementioned lick mat/Kong.

AMOS

Meet Amos. To say that my husband and I love this puppy would be an understatement! Making the decision to rehome Amos may be the hardest decision we have ever made. We purchased him as a baby and have enjoyed every minute of our time with him.

Unfortunately, he is a young boy with a big personality and we have learned he is not suited for families with small children/pets and a chaotic lifestyle. Our children are giving us grandchildren and during a visit with my young niece, Amos became far too aggressive/reactive for us to feel safe. He has struggled with our cat and we have invested a lot of money into both positive behavior training as well as balanced training in home and away. He is excellent with dogs of all sizes and full-sized humans.

His trainer advises that Amos would be well suited with a family who has no young children and a fairly quiet home life. She has generously offered to give a few free training sessions to whoever adopts him and he has already completed a board and train session with her.

Amos has tons of energy, but he is also an excellent dog to just lay around at your feet. He would make an excellent work dog or running companion. We have had his genetic testing done and he is mostly Siberian Husky with a smidge of Pomeranian and an equal part pit. At one year old our vet says he is full grown and is 46 pounds. He is current on all vaccinations and has a wellness plan through Banfield. He was born in October of 2021. When he finds his new family, he will come with his crate, leash, ecollar, and all belongings. We are desperate to find him a new home where he will be loved and adored.

Beignet

This is Beignet (pronounced Ben-yay!) aka Benny. He was recently shorn down but the floofy pictures are what he normally looks like. Beignet is a 7 year old maltipoo who lives up to his name... He's the sweetest sugar-coated dough puff who lives on belly rubs and kisses. He wants all the love all the time so he would best as the only pet in a home where there are always people around. He's a wonderful lapdog with a big personality and true love for the game of fetch. He's perfectly house-trained and food motivated! Please contact Grace

WINNIE

Breed: Staffordshire Mixed Terrier
Color: Black - With White
Age: Young - About 2 Years
Size: Medium
Weight: 33.6 (working on getting to 35!)
Sex: Female

Good with dogs I know - Shots current - Spayed - Crate Trained

Hi! My name is Winnie and I'm a playful and energetic two-year-old staffy/mixed terrier pup who just wants to love her people and run and jump and play! I haven’t met a toy I don't love chewing on, and I am working really hard on my manners. I am nervous whenever new people come over or when meeting strangers (dogs and humans) on walks, but with training, patience, and practice, I have gotten a lot better! At the end of the day, nothing beats a good nap or snuggle session (or in the middle of the day works, too).

A note from Winnie's current people - We absolutely adore Winnie but our long-time pup is having a really hard time (sadly, Winnie loves him but the feeling is not mutual). She is goofy, sweet, bubbly, and smart! We’ve had success with distraction training, a gentle leader, and can manage Winnie easily on walks but she will need more and consistent training to be her best self.

Please let us know if you think you'd be a good fit - Winnie is so great and deserves to be the center of someone's world!

Rudy

Rudy is 8 months old with all of his shots, licensed, and chipped, he is not neutered.

He is a loving, playful dog, needs lots of room to grow with a family and kids, plays and gets along with everyone and animals too.

House trained.

The only reason I'm trying to place him in a new home, is because he is a large breed dog that needs room to grow and play.

I have a small house and yard.

Not looking for money, but for you to donate to the shelter of your choice.

Please do not contact me unless you are ready for a large breed dog

Please if you are interested in this beautiful energetic loving guy.

RUSTY

Greetings,

Where to start with this doggo. Rusty came into our lives as a stray, we went out to dinner and when we returned he was on our doorstep. My girlfriend now wife is an animal lover so we had no choice but to take him in, even though the apartments we lived in at the time didn't allow pets, don't tell anyone.

Shortly there after we purchased a house and had Ruaty in-tow. He had become the center of our world. We got him sorted with a vet, he is in great health, and we began the journey of trying to figure out how he became a stray.

We never found anyone in our neighborhood who knew Rusty so his first year of life is a mystery. I can tell you he was scared of everything when we first got him. I was folding laundry and snapped a towel to straighten it prior to folding and he ran to the corner cowering and urinated.

We did everything we knew how to let him know he was safe and eventually he became less scared and more playful. My wife is an avid runner so naturally Rusty became her running buddy anytime she went running and it was dark. He loves to play fetch, well a version where you throw the ball he gets and then tries to play keep away. His next favorite play is tug-a-war with his rope, he'll get his rope and let you know he wants to play.

We've felt very blessed to have had Rusty in our lives for the past 3.5 years but my wife just gave birth to our first child and he's struggling. We took him to Paw and Hand K9 training but still his behavior related to the newborn is too risky for our liking.

Rusty needs a loving home with an moderately experienced dog owner and he will provide protection and love that is second to none.

If you need any additional information about the pup we'd be happy to answer any questions.

STETSON

We are looking for a great home for our 2-3 year old male English setter/great pyrenees. He is a couch potato, very mellow, low energy and incredibly gentle with children and people. He loves being around people and likes nothing more than some couch cuddles. He lives with a small dachshund and is gentle and patient and he is incredibly tolerant and playful with her. We don't know what he is like with cats, but he has been around chickens off-leash and is great.

He would benefit from some consistent training and confidence building when meeting new large dogs on and off leash. His greeting is snippy and reactive with larger dogs, but with the right home and patience and time Stetson will flourish. Unfortunately we aren't that home for Stetson.

Please email me for more information or to set up a call. We love this boy so much and what the best for him.

Hero

Hero (three years old) is loving, SO smart and has a heart of gold. Hero has extensive training (basics as well as crate and "place" training), and walks well on leash. He especially loves hiking and snuggling. Hero currently lives with another dog, a cat, and a baby and he gets along great with everyone. Hero is known in the neighborhood for his good looks and charm.

Hero needs lots of physical/mental activity and focus or he will chew things. He will thrive with continued training and exercise. Before we had a child we worked diligently with him with great success.

Hero can have stranger danger. He warms up to people quickly but needs guidance. If someone at the park/walk makes him nervous, he barks. He has never tried to bite or shown aggression towards people. We continue to work on with him and he’s doing great.

Hero currently goes on regular training hikes and it would be great for Hero to stay involved. Hero is so sweet and will bring so much love to his forever home.

Rootbeer

DOB Aprox April 2020

42 lbs.

High energy companion dog that is incredibly loyal and loving. Rootbeer needs routine and structure. He loved to run and play. He has lived with a baby, and cats. He is friendly to dogs but most comfortable when off leash and with familiar humans. He has had leash training and may need additional in a new home. He loves food and will do anything for a treat. He knows sit, wait, down, off. He loves lap cuddles and snoozing by your feet. He currently takes meds for anxiety. With more structure and predictability, Rootbeer may thrive without med intervention.

He’s a very “good boy” and needs a home where he can have a large or majority of attention on him. While he’s good with young children, due to his needs, he may be best suited for a home with older children to play with or no children.

If interested in learning more about Roobeer please email huntergannon8@gmail.com

ROMEO

Hi! My names Romeo my dad sadly lost his job and has an unstable life style as a traveling freelancer. This lifestyle no longer fits what I, a retired show rottweiler, needs. It is simply too busy and unreliable and has caused me too much stress. Dad says I'll do best in quiet home where i can relax and chew on bones and toys, i dont really like car rides that go on for too long, unless its to the beach! I love the beach. I like dogs sometimes but i prefer play dates vs dog parks I get overwhelmed and my corrections go too far sometimes. I love kids but sometimes when they jump on me i get angry so i like teens or kids near 10. My family loves me and i know this breaks my heart but they say my happiness is more important. Please call 707-332-5068 if you are interested in being my furever home. I will be Oregon/Washington bound.

Joy

My name Joy says it all! I am full of love and affection and energy. I am such a sweetheart.
I am highly food motivated so when you get those lamb treats out I will race to my bed and sit so pretty that you can’t help but give me more than one! I do need exercise but at the same time if I need to be alone in the house for hours then I do fine, but I just might ask for more exercise when you get back.
I am about two years old but we don’t know my exact age as I was a rescue from the streets of California. I had a litter of pups in my foster home and then I was fixed.
My current home has no yard and only one human who works outside the home, and this is not really enough for me. I did better when my human was working from home, but alas that is no longer an option. I also don’t love living in a crowded inner city because if I am feeling anxious i sometimes bark at people - this usually just happens at the end of a long work week when I have pent up energy. I would do better in a less crowded neighborhood or better yet a rural area where there is room to roam and sniff.
I do fine with other dogs and spend every Thursday with a group of dogs and a trainer and we go on lots of adventures. I have boarded with several different trainers and been with their dogs and also did great. I spend about two days a week at doggie daycare and I am good and tired at the end of those days! I have had no issues being there but sometimes I need convincing to walk through the front door.
I don’t love loud noises or the unpredictability of small kids so I probably would do best in a home with only grownups.

Please contact Lisa Powell to set up a meeting with this bundle of Joy. lisachocolate@me.com or 971-278-0716

BEE

Bee is a 7 year old Dutch Shepherd and Cattle dog mix looking for her forever home. She is a sweet and loyal girl who loves exploring and playing frisbee. She would do best in a home with a yard and likes being with her owner best of all. Bee is house trained and is fine alone in the house for up to 8 hours. She is 40lbs, spayed and current on all her shots. She does okay with older male dogs who respect her boundaries, but likes her space. Bee would not do well in a home with young kids. She loves, walks, hikes, frisbee, camping and anything that gets her moving with her owner.

LUKA

Luka: 5 year old Black and Tan, Full bred, German shepherd, male, 70lbs, neutered. Super loyal to family and loves to be loved on. We’ve had him since he was a puppy so he is potty trained and leash trained. He loves walks and to play fetch with a chuck-it and enjoys swimming in the river. He loves being wherever you are, always in the same room as you making sure to keep you company and safe. He has been mostly trained through Sit Means Sit so he responds best with his collar and remote. He barks at knocks at the door but we’ve been training him to stay in his bed until released. He’s not a fan of strangers or other dogs he meets outside the home, until he gets to know them and has been around them a handful of times, then you become family. He can get worked up when approaching other dogs while on a leash. He is up to date on all his vaccines and bordetella, no tick prevention at this time, but he has had it in the past. Able to give full medical history. Earlier this year he had to undergo a skin surgery on his back leg from a freak accident which took 3 months of recovery so there is a scar there but thankfully he is completely back to normal!

Unfortunately with having a kid and a second on the way, we just haven’t been able to give him the attention and lifestyle he requires so we are hoping to find him a loving home who can prioritize him and navigate his anti-socialism better. The ideal family would:

-have prior experience with German shepherds

-ensure 2 daily walks or ball outings

-ability to give him regular at-home baths (he can go to a dog cleaner but he doesn’t always get along with other dogs)

-understand his triggers and be able to continue working on socializing him to other people and dogs. He has lifetime training already paid for via Sit Means Sit so all you would need to do is reach out to them and get a training appointment for him to get started up again!

-other dogs would be good for him as he would begin to click with them over time, however probably no cats or other small animals

If interested or would like more information, my name is Lauren Zavaletta, and you can reach me at laurenzavaletta@gmail.com

Zeto

Zeto is located in Portland, Oregon where his family loves him, but cannot provide him his best life. He was born in January 2018 and is a pure bred German Shepherd from a line of Schutzhund champions. He loves people and did well with our 5 year old when he first joined our family. He also is going to need to be the only dog for now as he is reactive to other dogs, but I know with time and training he could overcome his fear. He played well as a puppy, but I think he was attacked at a boarding kennel and became reactive as a juvenile. Zeto is neutered, up to date on his vaccines and is chipped. He loves to fetch and find. He is a working dog and easy to train. He has anxiety issues currently, but I know with appropriate stimulation/training/jobs, he would likely be happier and not anxious. His ideal human buddy would be someone who had time to work him and has space to play. Please contact Melissa Tom @ melissatom45@gmail.com for more information and to set up a meeting. Zeto is ready to live his best life as someone’s best buddy.
