Please read this page in its entirety so that you fully understand our appointment scheduling process

View all adoptable dogs on our website and decide which dog you’d like to meet. You will only be able to request an adoption appointment to meet one dog. You will submit an adoption application along with your appointment request. Our staff will review your request and you will receive an email from a team member if we have approved your appointment.
If your adoption appointment request is approved the dog you are meeting will be held for you to meet. No other potential adopters will be able to schedule an appointment for that dog. Please double check that the dog you are requesting an appointment for has an orange button below their profile that says “request an adoption appointment”
Please only request an appointment if you are serious about adopting a pet and have every intention of keeping your appointment.
Expect to spend approximately 1 hour at your appointment. Your appointment is in person, at our Adoption Center located at 9101 SE Stanley Ave. Portland OR 97206.
We are unable to “ship” or transport our dogs, so you must live within driving distance and be able to come to our Adoption Center to meet & adopt.
Adoption appointments are available on Saturdays and Sundays between 10:30am - 4:45pm.
We hope to add more adoption days soon.

Everyone that lives in your home, including the other dogs are required to come to your appointment.
If you rent your home we require landlord approval for certain breeds. The best way to do this is to get it in writing prior to your appointment ( noting any age, breed, or weight restrictions ).
If the dog is a great fit for you all adoption paperwork will be done during your appointment, if your adoption application is approved be prepared to take your new dog home with you at the time of your appointment!
You will receive a leash & collar, a few toys & treats along with a two day sample of their dog food.

Your appointment request may be declined for a few different reasons:
Another appointment is already approved for said dog.
The dog is not a good match for your home.
Breed restrictions.
Everyone in the home, or your other dog, is not able to come to the appointment- we want to be sure that everyone gets along.
You live out of OR, WA or ID state and are not able to come to our adoption center in Portland Oregon for your appointment.
We ask that you only request an adoption appointment if you have thoroughly thought through bringing a new pet into your life, and are prepared & ready to adopt a dog today if they are a good match for your family. Please do not take the opportunity away from a family who is ready to welcome a new dog into their home if you are “just looking”, already have an adoption appointment scheduled elsewhere or you are not in place to actually adopt at this time.
We would never expect you to adopt the dog you meet if they are not a good fit for you, however we ask that you do not schedule an appointment if you know that you have no intention of adopting a dog.
